The Shulls
Since 1989, Scott Shull has been making Oregon wines—first as an independent producer, and from 1995 to 2017 as lead winemaker at Raptor Ridge Winery. Now focused on vineyard management and wine growing, Scott always strives to grow grapes and assist winemaker Shannon Gustafson in crafting wines that are interesting to the palate and to the mind—wines of complexity, finesse, and place. Born in Kentucky and raised in Des Peres, Missouri, Scott was a self-taught winemaker, having learned by doing, reading, and attending extension service courses on viticulture and enology offered by U.C. Davis, Oregon State University, and Chemeketa Community College, and by participating in the Willamette Valley’s Westside Winemakers Club for a number of years. Scott is President emeritus of Oregon Pinot Camp. Previously, he has served as a board member of Gov. Ted Kulongoski’s Brand Oregon campaign and was a founding director of the Oregon Wine Board.
Annie joined Scott as his life partner in 1998 and as his business partner in 2001. This Minnesota native is active throughout the Oregon wine industry. Her background in curriculum development for technical sales teams segued into a 15-year role in distribution sales management. The bulk of her time is now spent managing processes and operations at the winery. Annie is president emeritus of Oregon Pinot Camp, and served as a director for nine years, contributing to review and revision of curriculum. Annie also served on the iSalud! steering committee, and currently serves on the Diversity, Equity, Belonging and Inclusion Taskforce for the Willamette Valley Wineries Association, and the Willamette Valley Winery Foundation board, as well as the Chehalem Cultural Center Board of Directors. When she’s not working, Annie enjoys cycling, yoga, teaching and learning about mindfulness meditation, and trying to keep up with Scott.

Annie joined Scott as his life partner in 1998 and as his business partner in 2001. This Minnesota native is active throughout the Oregon wine industry. Annie is president emeritus of Oregon Pinot Camp, and served as a director for nine years, contributing to review and revision of curriculum. Annie also served on the iSalud! steering committee, and currently serves on the Diversity, Equity, Belonging and Inclusion Council for the Willamette Valley Wineries Association, and is a founding member of the Willamette Valley Winery Foundation board, Vice President of the Chehalem Cultural Center Board of Directors, where she Chairs the DEI Committee. When she’s not working, Annie enjoys cycling, yoga, and is a certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction instructor. Her bouncy Labrador Retriever Gabby reminds her to include long walks in the woods and play in her everyday routine.

Ben has extensive experience in both Oregon and California as both a viticulturalist and enologist with storied brands such as Sine Qua Non, Evening Land, Argyle, J.K. Carriere, and Keeler Estate.
Founder Scott Shull says, “We knew we had found our match when we learned of Ben’s deep appreciation for sustainability – first as a Certified Oregon Master Gardner, and then as a degreed Horticulturalist and Enologist.”
General Manager
Wallace joined the Raptor Ridge team in March 2021 as our National Sales Manager. With relationships as her currency, Wallace is committed to the importance of building strong ties with wholesalers, distributors, and wine-lovers across the nation. She proudly informs wine professionals and consumers about the quality, care, and intention forming the bedrock of Raptor Ridge’s winemaking program. Wallace has swiftly made strides in learning all aspects of sales at Raptor Ridge, and in the spring of 2022 earned the title of General Manager.
Born and raised in Louisiana, Wallace discovered her passion for wine while working in the boutique bottle shops and legendary dining rooms of New Orleans. This 10-year beverage industry veteran earned wine certifications, transitioning into wine distribution program management and sales. Wallace is a Certified Specialist of Wine, a Hospitality Beverage Specialist, a Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) level two award-holder, and a Certified Sherry Wine Specialist.
In 2018, Wallace worked as a Harvest Intern in Oregon’s Chehalem Mountains AVA and quickly caught the Oregon bug. In 2020, Wallace worked as a harvest intern for Raptor Ridge learning the intricacies of the winemaking process. In her spare time, Wallace enjoys yoga, hiking, camping, cooking, and entertaining while exploring her new Willamette Valley home.
Director of Marketing & Membership
Tanya manages our wine club program and leads our digital marketing efforts. She comes to us with more than ten years experience in the wine industry, including Argyle, Amaterra and Ambonnay wine bar. As an industry expert in digital strategy (particularly website user experience and eCommerce platform analysis & implementation), she has been a speaker at Unified and the Wine Industry Technology Symposium.
She holds a WSET Level 3 (with distinction) and Master of Champagne (with honors) certifications. Her interest in wine began while living in San Francisco, and expanded when she moved to Oregon more than 20 years ago. She loves sparkling wines (especially Champagnes) and of course Oregon Pinot Noirs.
Tanya joined the wine industry in 2013 after a long career in marketing, brand management and digital strategy at various agencies and for social purpose organizations.
She loves cooking, entertaining and live music – particularly funk and brass bands from New Orleans, where she travels every chance she can.
Tasting Room Manager
Though born in Oregon, Becka calls Eastern Washington home and where she developed her deep love for all things vino. Knowing she would probably not have the privilege of living in such a beautiful wine region again, she dove headfirst into a passion project of visiting each Walla Walla winery in the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance (and beyond!) to expand her palette and knowledge of wine. Out of that two-year project bloomed a true love for not just the beverage, but for the wine community.
After earning degrees in International Communications and Business from Walla Walla University in 2013, she delved into many lines of work from rock climbing instructor to radio producer to professional chef before finally landing at Coeur d’Alene Cellars in Idaho in 2020. That time spent in the tasting room finally inspired she and her husband to move back to a familiar place, the Willamette Valley, where they first met. She is thrilled to grow in this wine region as much as she was in Eastern Washington.
When she isn’t hosting guests, she enjoys reading, skydiving, trail running, and endlessly throwing the chuck-it ball for her cattle dog, Boone.
EVENTS COORDINATOR &
TASTING ROOM LEAD
Originally from Southern California, Stephen took on the role of Hospitality Associate at Raptor Ridge in the spring of 2023. Stephen’s experience in the wine world began during his time managing the wine department at Trader Joes, a role he valued as it revealed how much he enjoyed interacting with and teaching others about our favorite beverage. In 2021, he managed the tasting room at Archer Vineyard, pitching in during harvest, assisting in blending trials, coordinating events, and hosting guests. He has now brought his expertise to his new role as our Tasting Room Lead & Events Coordinator. His growth in the industry does not stop there, as Stephen aspires to complete his Certified Specialist of Wine and WSET series. He is proud of his work and always looks forward to hosting guests and sharing his passion for this beautiful wine region.
When not at the winery, you can find him hiking around the Pacific Northwest with his loyal pup, Lucy, taking professional landscape photos.
Hospitality Associate & Cellar Hand
Sara comes to us after a long tenure at Trader Joes. Born and raised in Arizona, she has called the Pacific Northwest home since 2003 after attending the Scottsdale Culinary School of Le Cordon Bleu. Her transition to the Willamette Valley wine community was spurred by a curiosity for wine production and the endless opportunities this industry provides. Here at Raptor Ridge, she plays two roles: that of tasting room associate and cellar hand. She is exceptional at building relationships with not just her coworkers, but with harvest interns, tasting room guests, industry professionals, and all dogs that may cross her path. It’s always a fantastic time with this Syrah-loving girl working in a Pinot Noir world.
If you can’t find her at the winery, look to the outdoors as she may be out backpacking, camping, paddleboarding, or spending quality time with friends and family, and of course her cattle dog, Otto.
Hospitality Associate
Brooke is a Willamette Valley native. She lives on and operates her family farm in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. She has been working in hospitality for over twenty years and discovered her passion for wine while working in restaurants. She has expanded her knowledge of wine focusing on Terroir. She loves learning about the environment surrounding the grapes, expanding what she knows about soils, viticulture, and sustainability.
She is enthusiastic about the diverse portfolio that Raptor Ridge has to offer and is excited to meet club members and continue to deepen her connections in the wine community.
When she isn’t in the tasting room, she enjoys reading, working in her garden, and can be seen out and about with her better half, Paco the Dog.
Hospitality Associate
Larry wins the prize for the shortest commute to work, which is how we first made his acquaintance. Larry is firmly entrenched in “retirement” after an active life doing everything under the sun. Larry works as half of Chehalem Mountain Pottery at his nearby home studio. A native of Colorado, Larry was transplanted as a lad to the Tacoma, Washington area before landing Beaverton, Oregon. A 40-year wine industry veteran who started as a stock boy at The Cheese Shop, Larry partnered with his brother in 1976 to launch Nelson Brothers Cheese & Wine, curating a selection of 500+ wines from around the globe. Back then, he enjoyed hosting winemakers from Europe, the US, and local wineries, learning about Oregon wines as fast as Oregon winemakers were learning how make them. And the everything under the sun part? A PSU art degree, scuba instructor, professional pyrotechnician, and home beer brewer. We’re just wondering when he is going to start learning to train elephants.
